Welcome to Mads’ Best Friend

I’m Maddie, a qualified dog trainer and behaviour specialist, working online and in TW, SW and KT postcodes.

I’m passionate about enhancing the connection between humans and their best friends, dogs.

Specialising in rescue dogs, my extensive experience within the canine rescue industry has exposed me to the heartbreaking reality of dogs finding themselves in rescue shelters. This experience has made me hyperaware of how these scenarios most commonly occur and what can be done to prevent them.

To address these pressing issues, I offer a range of proactive services to both future and current dog parents. By offering a range of science based, positive training techniques, preventative measures and valuable advice, I hope to empower dog owners to build trusting, harmonious relationships with their dogs.

Having worked with thousands of dogs, within a home environment and in UK and overseas rescue organisations including Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, I have experience working with some of the most challenging behavioural cases, in complex and often sensitive circumstances. As well as this, my education through my Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Applied Canine Behaviour and CPD through organisations including IMDT and The Dog Training College, have allowed me to pair my extensive hands on experience with positive, science- based dog behaviour and training knowledge.

I strive to create a fun, accessible and judgement- free space where I consider the personal needs and circumstances of every individual client and their furry best friend.

I am currently working alongside several rescue charity’s, based in the UK, Romania and Morocco in providing behavioural advice, support and training services, to those looking to rehome their dogs, dogs currently in rescue shelters, as well as to new rescue adopters. The aim of my work is to provide as much support to those with rescue dogs as possible, encouraging adoption and ultimately, to prevent dogs from being surrendered to rescue shelters.
